About The Netbuddy Network

The Netbuddy Network officially kicked off in July 2008 when Netbuddy, my sole trader business, was established at the beginning of the 2008/09 financial year. The Network originally consisted of all my main arcade sites - Top100Arcades.com, Arcadedirectory.com, Maxiarcade.com & Arcadescripts.com. Two of these sites had been in existance since 2006, Arcadedirectory.com and Arcadescripts.com were added in 2007 and early 2008 respectively.
Ive always held a desire to build a network worthy of the name. Like a lot of people I've started a lot of projects, only to abandon them shortly after due to lack of interest, money or skill. One thing webmasters are never short of is ideas, its a matter of filtering those ideas to come with something that's practical, interesting and worthwhile. Towards the end of 2008, I finally settled on a model that I believe will culminate in a fantastic network.
The network is to be expanded with a series of portals. Those sites will explore several topics that im quite passionate about - web design, online games, travel and environment policy/technology. In March 2009 I'm heading back to University again. It's been just over 10 years since I've stepped foot inside a class room, and it promises to be a daunting and challenging experience. I will be studying environment science & policy. I plan to use the information I gain throughout the course to help formulate the environmental portal.
Sitefiend will be my webmaster portal, with all the usual things you would expect to find from such a site - templates, seo advice, general topics of interest, internet marketing and so on.
Gamerscurse will be home to my online games portal. I have something very interesting in mind for that site. It certainly wont be your typical games portal with a billion videos, screenshots and game writeups. Im particularly looking forward to working on that one.
My travel portal will focus on the bizarre and unusual. You wont be reading about stale old package holidays and over the top shopping sprees in Hong Kong. Its going to be something much more interesting than that.
Aside from the addition of these portals, I also plan to add an ecommerce site specializing in arcade templates. Its the one piece of the puzzle that is currently missing from Arcade webring.
And last but not least, I will be starting my own web development ecommerce site. I originally planned on building an ecart into Sitefiend, but I decided that it would simply be too much for one site, and Sitefiend would loose its focus as an information portal. I will be selling established wordpress minisites, domains and installation services, with a view to expanding the product range and the services on offer over time.
So there you go, a brief history of the Network and plans for the future. I hope you enjoyed the read, and I hope you find all my sites interesting and enjoyable.
Sincerely,
Matt (Administrator)
